Min: Russia agrees on buckwheat, sunflower exports to China

SHANGHAI, Aug 2 (PRIME) -- Russia has agreed to export buckwheat and sunflower to China, Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin told reporters on Wednesday following a meeting with Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan.

“We have agreed with the Chinese partners that supplies of such products like buckwheat and sunflower to the Chinese market will become more active, our suppliers will be registered,” he said.

The countries have also agreed to expand the list of Russian regions that supply wheat to China.

Oreshkin and Shan also discussed participation of Chinese companies in Russian privatization deals, as well as steps to boost mutual investment.

“This is attraction of investment of Chinese companies into the Russian business and Russian money into the Chinese business. There is a number of big achievements here: this is creation of a Russian–Chinese fund, from the Russian side it is the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). Among other issues, I also discussed privatization deals,” Oreshkin said.
